Teacher Shopping Hours:
Tues/Weds/Thurs
2:30pm-5:30pm

If you are a teacher or employee in a public, private or parochial school in Bloomington, Richfield, Shakopee, Robbinsdale, or Brooklyn Center, Minnesota you are eligible to shop at Companies to Classrooms

As of January 6, 2015, Companies to Classrooms will be charging a maintenance fee with each shopping visit. The rates are $5 for up to 7 items and $10 for 8-15 items. We will accept payment in cash or check. At the present time, we will still be limiting visits to 1 per calendar month.

Companies to Classrooms has a wide selection of school, office, craft supplies and other materials for use in your classroom.  These items have been donated by local companies and individuals who support education in your community.  To take advantage of their generosity you only need to do the following:

  1. Show the front desk volunteer your school employee ID. They will give you the proper registration forms to get you into our system. Once you are registered, you need only to show your ID to the front desk each time you come in and then you may shop!

  2. Take a clipboard, a shopping form and a pencil.

  3. Your shopping form will have 15 lines, so you are allowed 15 line items from our inventory.  Each item has an item number and a limit as to how many of each you may have.  Therefore, you may have up to the limit on any 15 items.  For example:  If you take stickers, #3430, the limit is 20.  You may take up to 20 and this counts as only 1 line item!  Some of our item #’s are unlimited which means you can have as many as you need of that item and that only counts as 1 line item.  You can walk out of Companies to Classrooms with lots of merchandise—on average a teacher receives over $80-110 worth of merchandise each time they shop.

  4. Recording your purchases on the shopping form helps us to track the materials we give out.  ;

  5. Take all purchases to the front desk where our store volunteer will collect your shopping form and check you out.

  6. Upon check out, you will receive a form with information about one of our generous contributors.  Please use this information to write or have your students write thank yous to our donors.  This is one of our best forms of advertising.  Companies love receiving notes from students and genuinely feel the impact of their gift.

  7. Go back to school with your treasures and encourage your fellow teachers to visit us!

Please note we follow the Bloomington Public School calendar—we are closed on all days when BPS is not in session.
