If you are a teacher or employee
in the Bloomington, Minnesota or Richfield, Minnesota public
school system, you are eligible to shop at Companies to
Classrooms. If you are not a teacher in either of these
districts, you still may shop at Companies to Classrooms by
volunteering at our store. Go to the
VOLUNTEER section for more information about this
program.
When you walk into Companies to
Classrooms, you will see a wide selection of school supplies
and other materials that you can obtain for your students
and/or for use in your classroom. These items have been
donated by local companies and individuals who support
education in your community. To take advantage of their
generosity you only need to do the following:
-
Show the front desk volunteer
your school employee ID. They will give you the proper
registration forms to get you into our system. Once you are
registered, you need only to show your ID to the front
desk each time you come in and then you may shop!
-
Take a clipboard, a shopping
form and a pencil.
-
You are allowed to take 15 items (item numbers) from
our inventory. Each item has an item number plus a
limit as to how many of each you may have. Therefore,
you may have up to the limit on any 15 items. For
example: If you take stickers, #3850, the limit is 50.
You may take up to 50 and this counts as only 1 item!
Many of our item #’s are unlimited which means you can
have as many as you need of that item and that only
counts as 1 item. You can walk out of Companies
to Classrooms with lots of merchandise—on
average a teacher receives over $75-100 worth of
merchandise each time they shop.
-
Record your purchases on the
shopping form. Again you may take up to 15 item NUMBERS.
-
Take all purchases to the
front desk where our store volunteer will collect your
shopping form and check you out.
-
Upon check out, you will
receive a form with information about one of our generous
contributors. Please use this information to write or have
your students write thank yous to our donors. This is one
of our best forms of advertising. Companies love receiving
notes from students and genuinely feel the impact of their
gift.
-
Go back to school with your
treasures and encourage your fellow teachers to visit us!
