Volunteers are a fundamental part
of Companies to Classrooms. We essentially run a retail
store without a cash register. We do not charge for our
merchandise but we still have to acquire product, maintain
inventory, stock the shelves, promote our service, etc. and
all these tasks are performed by volunteers. There are a
number of ways for individuals or groups to volunteer. This
can be a one-time project or an on-going commitment. Our
volunteers are:
-
Individuals
-
Teachers
-
Retired Teachers
-
Students (especially those
needing community service hours)
-
Retirees
-
Employees of Corporate
partners
-
Anyone interested in
supporting education in their community
-

-
Bundle bulk items
-

-

-

Our long-term goal is to serve all teachers in the metro area, however,
at the present time funding does not allow us to do so. In order to
serve more districts, paid staff is necessary to run our store and
warehouse and until we have dollars available to hire help, we have
to limit our service area. Therefore we have established the
VOLUNTEER-TO-SHOP PROGRAM so that teachers outside our current
service area can volunteer hours in exchange for a trip through our
store. IF YOU ARE A TEACHER IN A SCHOOL OTHER THAN BLOOMINGTON OR
RICHFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS YOU MAY SHOP AT COMPANIES TO CLASSROOMS BY
VOLUNTEERING.
You can earn a shopping trip through the Companies to Classrooms
Free Store once you have volunteered 3 hours with us. This can be
done all at once or you can accumulate hours. Just fill out our application before you volunteer. We will keep
track of your hours and give you a voucher after you have completed
3 hours.
